wedding-industry-coronavirus

Coronavirus came along and physically trapped us at home, while that has been a daily nuisance for most, for wedding vendors who rely on interactions and gatherings for a living, it has been a bloody nightmare. Which is why a lot of new vendors have pivoted so they can still service their couples but just from a safe distance!

Here we run through some of the vendors changing it up during Coronavirus times.

Cassandra Renee

To be able to work with her brides during this time, Cassandra has been conducting virtual meetings and taking one-on-one appointments and bridal fittings since the visitor restrictions have been lifted. She’s also casually working on a whole new collection too, so she’s certainly keeping busy!

Sun + Moon

Aveline from Sun + Moon would usually be working on engagement and wedding photoshoots at this time, but she’s been quick to think on her feet about how to service her couples from afar. “I have a couple who’s supposed to have their pre-wedding session with me next week, but unfortunately they can’t fly to Sydney due to Covid19. So I gave them a virtual photoshoot to cheer them up!”

Edwards & Co.

Instagram-famous hairdressers are used to providing brides with picture-perfect hair for their big day. But to help out brides during this time, the company launched a 10 episode IGTV series called ‘The Lockdown with Edwards & Co.’ to equip viewers with tips and tricks for taking care of their hair at home and experiment with styles they’ve always wanted to try but haven’t had the time to commit to it.

They also launched a ranch of hair maintenance kits so brides can do colour touch ups and treatments at home, meaning their hair is wedding-ready when it finally comes to their big day. One of ‘The Lockdown’ episodes walks brides through the colour application and how to do it with all the tools in the kit. Get ready to blow your fiancé away at home!

One of our gorgeous celebrants, Kate Morgan, has created a completely new business during this time. In light of the five-person wedding restrictions, Kate and a few friends have developed drive thru weddings to accomodate couples desperate to get hitched in Sydney! Having a car-based elopement means social distancing can occur and you can say ‘I Do’ in a scenic Sydney location.

Beyond the uberly-romantic concept, the cost will certainly have you falling head-over-heels as the average wedding cost is $53,168 and the I Do Drive Thru’s packages start from only $400!
